Why Alkera
Coding agents were built for software, not data. Code that runs without errors can still be wrong: a bad join, a silent sample, or a stale source produces output that looks right and is not. Alkera grounds the agent’s work in how your data actually flows and what it means:- Knowledge base. A shared record of your business definitions, conventions, and reference queries. The agent reads it before it answers and records what it learns.
- Lineage. How each table and column is produced, so the agent can check downstream impact before it changes anything.
- Governance. Every action is classified by its effect and passes a permission gate you control.
How it fits together
Everything you do in Alkera happens in a workspace. A workspace holds chats with the agent, notebooks, and files together in one folder, and it runs on a machine.Where it runs
Alkera runs in your browser at app.alkera.ai. There is nothing to install. The agent and your notebooks run on managed machines, not in your browser, so work continues when you close the tab. You can also start chats from Slack by mentioning the Alkera bot.IDE extensions and a CLI are coming soon. They will work with the same workspaces and chats as the web app, and let you run workspaces locally on your own machine.
